Because the Berg is known for its lack of glide and its good stability - even at high speeds! The Berg is a fairly slow disc that won't play any tricks on you. Even on windy days.
The Berg is designed for throws where you don't have to worry about the disc sliding too far past the basket. The disc has a very pronounced thumb guide on the top and has a fairly high profile. This makes the feel different from pretty much any other putter.

Hate it or love it. The mountain has a strange grip but a nice flight. It's not for distance but for controlled basket runs. I DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT TO THROW INTO THAT WHETHER ON THE RIGHT.
